Cambrils, an enchanting fishermen’s village at the Costa Dorada in Spain

Cambrils is a coastal village at the Costa Dorada, 115 km South of Barcelona. It is known for its temperate climate, its relaxing atmosphere, and its gastronomic restaurants, many specialized in seafood. Cambrils’ safe and clean golden beaches offer ample opportunities to enjoy the Mediterranean climate and various sporting activities. Around four o’clock in the afternoon, it is a busy place in the fishing port, and the freshly caught fish is bought by the restaurants to be served that same evening. The old center with its narrow streets and small shops is definitely worth a visit. Every Wednesday, the weekly market takes place with an extensive range of vegetables, fruit, clothing, and household items.

Tarragona

The city of Tarragonaat 15 miles from our B&B, is famous for its Roman past. The impressive cathedral in the old city center, the Roman amphitheater, and “El Balcó del Mediterrani” with an impressive sea view, are definitely worth visiting.

Reus

Reus, at 9 miles, is the birthplace of the architect Antoni Gaudí and offers ample shopping opportunities. It is also known for its modernistic buildings and the beautiful Gaudi museum.

Other interesting sights close to our B&B

The famous adventure parks Port Aventura and Ferrariland are at a 15 minutes drive from our B&B.

Mont-Roig del Camp, at a 6 miles distance, is the village where the famous Spanish artist Joan Miró spent most of his summers. His former home and studio, Finca Mas Miró, has recently been restored and is now open to visitors. In the area, at an altitude of 294 meters, is the monastery of Mare de Déu de la Roca, dating back to the year 1230. It provides you with spectacular views over the valley.

At 10 km from our B&B is the castle Monestir d’Escornalbou. You can visit the castle and enjoy the impressive views that cover almost the entire Costa Dorada coastline. On clear days, you even might see Mallorca!

Montblanc is a small medieval town close to Tarragona and less than 50 minutes from our B&B. It was founded in the twelfth century by King Alfons I. It has a well-preserved medieval wall that dates back to the fourteenth century. It offers a variety of military and civil buildings.

Priorat
is the region of Catalonia that is famed for its wine. It is a great place to head for a spot of wine tasting with spectacular sceneries.

Siurana, 50 minutes drive from our B&B, is a small fortress with ruins of an ancient castle, spectacularly situated on a high rock. You reach the tiny village via a winding road through the mountains. Once up there you can enjoy breath-taking views of the surrounding hills, the reservoir of Siurana and the Montsant mountain range. It is a popular place for climbers and hikers.

El Penedes is the region where the famous Spanish Cava is produced. You can visit various cellars, of which some are very impressive, such as the cellar of Freixenet in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia. both are at 45 minutes drive from our B&B.

L´espluga de Francolí,35 miles from our B&B, is a small town with a beautiful agricultural museum, Europe´s largest underground caves, and an interesting restored distillery.
On 2.5 km from L’espluga del Francolí, you will find the world-famous monastery of Poblet, the largest inhabited Cistercian Monastery in Europe. In 1991, it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. A must-see!

At walking distance, 1.2 miles from the B&B, is the romantic Parc Samà, with its French parterres, over eight hundred palm trees, oak trees, and elegant cedar and pine trees, a little lake with ducks and turtles, deer and a big voliere is an ideal place to have a picnic in the shade or visit with little children.

Just 2.0 km up the road is the small village of Montbrió del Camp which is known since Roman times for its thermal water springs that counts among the biggest in Europe. 

The Ebro Delta, just 45 minutes away from Mas Montbrió Belvedere, is a nature reserve with beautiful landscapes, rice fields, long beaches and many bird species.
